Women in Business was founded at the University of Akron in the spring of 2018 by Elizabeth Helbley. This student organization was created to provide women a community in which they can promote each other and work together to help one another throughout their college and professional careers. This organization gives young women the chance and ability to network with women who are continuing to break the glass ceiling by doing the impossible in their respective industries. The prominent women leaders that come share their stories have achieved both personal and professional success, and use this to provide members with extremely valuable advice. Women in Business provides these opportunities through regular meetings and the annual Women in Leadership Symposium.  This organization uses their connections and resources to foster a community where people in all stages in their leadership journey come to learn, grow, and connect so they can confidently advance their careers and professional development. Women in Business believes that when women find their strength, leverage the strength of others, level-up their leadership skills, build networks, and grow in their communities, the world is a better place. This organization exists for the sole purpose of helping to create and raise future leaders by shattering barriers that exist in our world today.
